Retreasure your Garden

Raised beds Raised beds
The walls of the raised beds are made from old concrete blocks reclaimed from our old back wall (which had to be knocked down). They are clad in red cedar off-cuts left over from a cedar-clad extension to our house and therefore match the house and green-house (also cedar).

The path form-works are made from the original paving slabs of the straight path that was here when we moved in, cut lengthways. They also act as a mowing strip for the edge of the lawn, which is why they were not removed.
Path laid Path laid
Same strip with the path laid with courgettes and other vegetables growing while the work is going on.

Lawn sown Lawn sown
The children were great at staying off the 'lawn' but we later had to construct a wire fence around the entire space to stop our rabbit burrowing in the middle of it, pooing all over one side and eating all of the new shoots on the other side.
Lawn ready for eating! Lawn ready for eating!
Now that the lawn is well under way we can afford to let her ladyship reign supreme. We find that the grass grows 4 times higher on one side due to her mass fertilization (and mass consumption on the short side).

Shed to Fence Shed to Fence
The old shed (originally built as a play-house for the children, then converted to Percy's Palace for the rabbit, later becoming a wood store for the vast quantity of otherwise wasted wood leftover from the delivery of the extension, chopped up as firewood) reconstituted to become a fence for the front garden.
Shed to Bin Enclosure Shed to Bin Enclosure
The shed continues around the large council bins.
What's next? What's next?
Now to finish inside the fenced circle... Meanwhile we'll use it for throwing away the rest of the giant rubble and stuff from the back garden we can absolutely find no more use for.

Old useless silver teapot - it never worked properly for me but I could never bring myself to throw it away. I should have known better than to buy a teapot in a coffee drinking country like France!
